What do you all think? Are Maglevs better than High Speed Trains or is it best to stick with planes?
What are the pros and cons of each?

Maglevs seem like a great idea, but I can't figure out how they would ever be financially affordable.

An aspect of American English that I find interesting are the locutions "UH-HUH" meaning yes and "UH-UH" meaning no. They are the only AE words (if actually words they are) I can think of that depend entirely on tonality for their meaning, which is a characteristic usually associated with Asian languages.

Can anyone tell me something about where and how these phrases originated? Are they native to English?

I uninstalled Windows 7 after playing with it for a week. I liked the desktop background, so I am posting it here for anyone else who wants it . Right click and save, put the file in the folder C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper, right-click your desktop and select properties, choose it from the backgrounds list and set the display parameter to 'stretch.'
