There is not a single soul running for either party who excites me. Am I alone?

ET,
You are not alone on that one. Time will tell - hopefully someone will surface. I hate to say this, but at the moment McCain seems the most interesting to me because at least he is a straight shooter, I think, and disarmingly honest about his opinions. I like that quality. Unfortunately, he is one of those Republican guys. That is frightening. I don't think that my fingers are capable of pulling a lever under the letter "R". The truth is that I haven't really examined a lot of the candiates yet. I think that it is too early. Jeff |

JM-
You are right; you must be exremely wealthy to run for higher office these days. Is 30+ yrs of campaign finnance "reform" to blame? This is certianly a cause and effect situation. Will we ever think ahead? Fla. Jeff- Hasn't McCain changed course somewhat from Center to Right this past year or so? Can we really be shure what his real convictions are? |

ET,
You are right -er, correct - but we all change courses as we go through life and consider and reconsider things. I am not sure about his politics in some areas, but McCain's clear upfront attitude and direct-to-the-point discourse is, to me, quite refreshing and most admirable. I don't think that McCain will ever be accused of doing the politician's shuffle. He is a straight shooter. In other words, he is dependable with respect to what he says. That counts for a lot in my book. I am not sure of his politics. I have a lot of studying to do prior to the election, particularly if McCain is nominated. I am no conservative and no Republican. But I am really really tired of the song and dance routines. Jeff |
