as far as developing predictive value, [economics is] not close.
Do you realize that all the analysts touting bogus stocks on their way to the toilet were using accepted economic models?
( My God, this quote is too good to be true!)
Allow me (...giggle...) to rephrase Downpuppy's "enlightening" remark:
Quote:
Do you realize that all the [ expert geologists] touting bogus [ tales of natural gas depletion]were using accepted [ geological science]?
You don't recall the many bogus predictions of natural gas depletion? Let me refresh your memory:

Here is some "color" on the above chart. BTW, the following note was written by mother of all ironies
Quote:
As recently as the early 1980s, the natural gas resource base of the United States was widely judged to be near exhaustion. Production was in sharp decline, and by statute, certain uses of natural gas were prohibited. Prices were projected to increase several-fold while production was projected to continue in decline.
Natural gas is now widely viewed as a plentiful and abundant resource, with estimates of the amount remaining to be found and developed an order of magnitude [i.e., ten-fold] greater [ How can that be, Downpuppy? What happened to your "superior" predictive ability?]. Production, once projected to fall drastically, is now projected by many industry and governmental analysts to reach levels over the next 15 years 50% greater than the previous peak in production.
For a good laugh, check out the U.S. Geological Survey (" USGS") predictions in the above chart. Recall how Downpuppy said that the Chief Geologist at the USGS, M. King Hubbert, made the first "serious" prediction of U.S. oil depletion? Take a close look at the USGS predictions at the far-left end of the chart. That's right: The USGS published three predictions between 1971-1975 that differ by twenty-fold! Surely one of their predictions must have been right! Hell, anyone can be an "expert" if everyone ignores all of your WRONG predictions. Look! Even HUGH HEFNER made a prediction! (see 1978)
Its pretty apparent from the above diagram that Downpuppys alchemistser, geologistsreally dont know their a$$es fromdare I say it geological holes in the ground.
LOL! Superior "predictive ability" indeed!
Wanna have some more fun at Downpuppys expense? Read on:
Quote:
[He hasnt] given the slightest credibleestimates for eventual oil recovery amounts or times
Judging by Downpuppys inability to intelligently respond to the overwhelming criticism Ive presented, Id say the above quote most accurately describes(wait for it)... Downpuppy himself.
Many thanks to Downpuppy for a delightfully pithy LOL indeed!!!!
( My God, this really IS too easy.)
