The only way it can work is if there is unlimited free movement of capital and labor among and between the member countries. Considering the political realities, I don't think anything will happen for a very, very long time.

It took fifty years of wrangle to bring about the currency reform in Europe and was freight with many troubles. Because of the projected 'polar oil' crisis there is already discussion of inviting Canada into the EU, if not Russia too. By the time it would take to get agreement on the Amero, it might be more direct to speak then of a global currency.
What should that one be called - the Globe-o? the Mundo? the Umweltsgeld 666? |

I often wonder where does Greenland fit into all of this. What type of resources do they have that the other 3 countries might need.

Good question. A thawed-out Greenland will probably be an important location.
Downpuppy, I didn't realise that Caesar Augustus was a podgy woman in a turtleneck sweater, with a cow-lick on the back of the head. Or is it just a case of 'crown hair'? |

I was reading a little on Greenland and they were saying that a thawed out Greenland would turn into an archipelago. It was hard to understand exactly what their government is. It read like it was a self-sustained country but under the rule of Denmark still.

Our prosperity is based on the willingness of the rest of the world to hold dollars while we spend the world's savings on SUVs. Why would we want to give that up?
