Howard Zinn--his sense of compassion and that his life was so part of change during civil rights movement. Not a side line spectator.
Betrand Russell-terrific mind...most see him in the light of atheism but was so ahead of his time in his thinking. Russell/Einstein Manifesto pertaining to weapons porliferations. Mark Twain--for his wit/satire. Pictures of him...its the eyes. An intelligence yet mischievious..... LoTD

My own choices would be 1. Samuel Johnson ( you would never ever be bored with one of the greatest men to walk the earth at your table) 2. JFK( a truly good man shot before he could be recognised as the legend he should be regarded as) 3. Gary Rhodes ( english chef.......you want the food to be good don't ya???)

Hi Everyone,
Good topic! I am going to exclude family members, dear friends or people that I see all the time. For they would be my first choices... Beyond that? Would they still be dead at the dinner table? I am going to assume that they are resurrected and in perfectly fine state as if at their peak. So here are some... Thomas Jefferson Napoleon Siddhartha - though he wasn't much of an eater in the early years. The three people I'd like to have dinner with dead or alive? That's easy.
I could learn the most from my self after I'm dead. I could teach my self the most before I'm born. I could teach and learn in between my birth and death. The three dead or alive I'd most like to have dinner with? Me, myself, and I. |

Stephen Hawking- I have a curiosity with the inner workings of the universe.
Muhammed Ali- A more entertaining guest I could not imagine. Adolph Hitler- Such an evil and insane man. It would be interesting to see how his personality is in a small setting without a large audience. Also the interaction with Ali would be priceless. |

This will seem odd but it is only dinner correct?
One choice would be Mahatma Gandhi Another of course is the Dalai Lama The other certainly "Vdiamond" so she can enjoy as they chatter while we play chess and sip wine. Besides...I bet I could get them to mow my lawn afterwards as we stroll the beaches looking for sand dollars. "Vdiamond" I hope reads my humor. I savour the company of all I have for dinner...especially when they are confident in who they are. I awoke another day...peace |

Muhammad, Jesus, Abraham
Just to watch the interaction between the three. I'd be interested to see if they would get along, or hate eachother as much as their followers do. |

I thought of some combinations of dinner guests that would be interesting for the entertainment value alone.
Bill and Hillary Clinton and....Angelina Jolie. Rush Limbaugh, John McCain, and Bill Clinton. Here's a scary one--O.J. Simpson, Mark Furman, and Marsha Clark. The Dixie Chicks (counted as one guest), Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly. Donovan McNabb, Terrell Owens, and Rush Limbaugh. Sammy Haggar, David Lee Roth, and Eddie Van Halen. That "Who's your daddy?" Boston Red Sox player, whose name I can't think of at the moment, and any two Yankees he faced in the playoffs last year. More to come.... |
