Ok, if you have to defend, attack, long range escort, point interceptors by prop. Many pick the P-51, and it was a great plane, but a corsair has better qualities, and the old P-61 was both a night and daytime killer, extreemly manuverable for such a big aircraft, and could fight multiple targets at one time, and had awsume firepower and could carry tons of ammo. It was a little slower than the rest, but made up for it with qualities that were hard to beat.

Which one, if you had to both defend a base, fly escort missions etc, which one would give the most bang for the buck so to speak. To intercept of big flight of betty bombers, which would you prefer to be the weapon of choice, the spit, the P51, the Corsair, or the P-61. Escorts which would you prefer?
