Does anyone have any good world music/international music recommendations of songs that might be on Youtube?
I really like flamenco music, but I find a lot of music very interesting.

Interestingly, Indian music is being influenced by American music? (or vice versa) And for better or worse?

I love Brazilian music. There's an excellent collection of Bossa Nova songs on the soundtrack for Next Stop Wonderland and, of course, Getz/Gilberto volumes one and two are excellent representatives of the genre. I also recommend Sol Negro by Virginia Rodriguez, which is a superb example of the sort of Afro-Brazilian music of the Salvador de Bahia region of Brazil. Plus, her voice will just knock you on your @#%$. I also really love Rei Momo, David Byrne's musical tour of Brazil, the songs of which were done in various formats, including samba, mapeye, merengue, papaye, etc.
